About Acupuncture, Accupressure and Cupping Therapy

All these are therapeutic methods of ancient Chinese medicine, which has a history of more than 5,000 years.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of hair-thin sterile needles into various specific points on a mapping of energy pathways, the meridian lines that connected to specific organs and body functions. Acupuncture can treat a number of conditions. It is most noted for its pain relief effect.

Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of causing local congestion. It is one of the best ways to work on deep soft tissue. A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place. Most commonly, it is used for aches and pains of various types as well as respiratory problems, couging and wheezing.

Reflexology is a branch of Chinese natural therapeutic medicine that serves to alleviate many illnesses that are a reflection of an abnormal phenomenon in the body. It is based on the idea that specifi areas of the feet and hands correspond to specific areas of the feet and hands correspond to specific organs, bones, glands and muscles of the body. In fact, reflexologists believe that the entire body is mirrored in the feet, hands and ears. In a reflexologists treatment, reflex areas - formed by thousands of nerve endings in each hand and each foot - are pressed, palpitated and manipulated, thereby encouraging improved every glad, organ and other part of the body. Regular reflexology treatments help persuade reinforce itself. And in our health centre, we combine reflexology with the use of Chinese herbal medicine, reflexology accerlerates blood circulation and enhances the performance of the body's natural immune system in defense against disease.

Tui Na

Tui Na is the name for Chinese Massage. It has a history of more than 2,000 years and it bases on the traditional Chinese medical theory of the flow of Qi through meridians.

Chinese Massage emphasizes that shou fa (techniques) must be gentle and soft yet deep and penetrating. The strokes must be applied rhythmically and persistently. The controlled use of very deep, moving pressure is one of the secrets of Tui Na massage.

Tui Na can treat a variety of conditions from tension headache, whiplash, and muscle strains to stress-related illnesses. It improves blood circulation, helps with lymphatic drainage and digestion. Furthermore, it will improve your sleep quality.

Our treatments are covered by most of the major health insurance providers.
